Namibia's Desert Jewels have secured a place in the semi-finals of the Africa Netball Cup in Nairobi, Kenya, despite a 55-33 defeat to defending champions South Africa in their final Pool One match.

The result sees Namibia finish second in the group, setting up a semi-final clash against Pool Two winners Uganda with a place at the Netball World Cup still at stake.

The Desert Jewels entered their final group encounter on the back of an impressive run, having recorded victories over Botswana, Zimbabwe, and Tanzania. Those performances placed Namibia in a strong position to advance to the knockout stage of the continental tournament, which doubles as a qualifier for the global showpiece.

In the final pool match, South Africa controlled proceedings across all four quarters to secure the 55-33 win. South Africa finished top of Pool One, having already secured their qualification for the Netball World Cup.

Despite the setback, Namibia's earlier victories ensured a second-place finish in Pool One and progression to the semi-finals, where they will face Uganda as they continue their push for World Cup qualification.
