The National Arts Council of Namibia (NACN) is urging more creative organisations to apply for the grant and mobility fund.
The Administrator of the Council Gretta Gasper made the call in an interview with NBC news.
Gasper says the fund has the ability to create employment in the sector, if fully maximised.
So far they have observed more individuals applying than organisations.
The Council recognised the funding gap in the industry and pledged to support artists by providing them with grants to pursue their projects.
"And we see that there's really an interest in employment happening in the sector. So we are happy to really confirm that there is growth, but we want to urge more artists to really come through and apply. So what the government also wants to see is employment, and I'm really urging from that perspective. There's an important element that we are learning from this grand cycle period. Every time we have a call out, we always have individualistic approaches, but let's try to engage and actually orientate ourselves by actually registering our companies so that we are formally trading in the sector."
The applicants for funding each of the disciplines include studio arts, printmaking, sculpting and participation in events such as shows, expos and festivals, theatre, dance, music as well as talent development and arts-specific research.
"I'd like to urge all creatives out there from all walks of life to really participate in the call. It is an opportunity, a wonderful opportunity for you to capitalise and explore your creative potential. So why not? The time is now. Feel free to knock on our doors and ask those relevant questions, and we are ready to assist you."
The application for the third cycle will close on the 9th of this month, and creatives are encouraged to visit the NACN website for application details.
All applications are to be submitted in a hard copy or sent via the post office from all regions across the country.
