The Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture launched the National Readathon Week in Windhoek.
The launch was held at St. Barnabas Primary School on Monday.
Readathon week is celebrated under the theme, "Read Namibia: Understand the impacts of climate change on key economic sectors and livelihoods in Namibia."
The Readathon aims to strengthen the culture of reading, increase the usage of reading materials from various school libraries, as well as educate learners about the ongoing climate change.
Launching the week was the Deputy Executive Director in the Education Ministry, Gerard Vries, who urged all teachers, librarians, and stakeholders to ensure that all learners across the country participate in reading throughout the week.
