Packy Pakarae, Epukiro Constituency Councilor, is happy with the activities of the Catherine Bullen Foundation at Otjimanangombe village.

The foundation assisted the village in setting up water supply solar equipment as well as constructing a dining hall at the local school.

The Foundation was established in memory of Catherine Bullen, a fifth-year medical student who died suddenly in Namibia in August 2002.

Its aims include the preservation of health in rural Namibia by the provision of fresh water supplies and medical and educational facilities.

Speaking to nbc News Pakarae said the assistance has immensely impacted the community, particularly with the supply of water to the school and clinic.

"People have already started to receive medical services from the clinic here. It has already transformed the community in terms of their livelihoods. The two projects. You know how important the school is when learners are being well groomed and educated at the onset, especially at the primary levels, which form the foundation of any human being as a person."

Rodger and Linda Bulkletin are directors of the Catherine Bullen Foundation. "In 2011, we built a kitchen and dining area, and in 2019, we converted a large storeroom in a dormitory into a flush toilet, and then we promised to build a school hall. Before that, in 2008, we handed over a clinic to Otjimanangombe, and it was even extended by the Global Fund, and we're very proud of that. It is a very big clinic, much needed and saving many lives."

Other plans in the pipeline at Epukiro are the construction of a bridge at Otjimanangombe, an electricity supply through CENORED and an envisioned community garden project.

"During the rainy season, you can not cross the road because water actually creates mud that is so difficult to cross. Even for learners, walking from the homesteads to get to school is a challenge. Therefore, we engaged RA and a decision has been made. Funding is available before the rain starts. We want the Otjimanangombe bridge to be constructed."

Otjimanangombe village has a population of more than two hundred inhabitants.
