The Minister of Justice, Yvonne Dausab, has tabled a bill in the National Assembly to have all obsolete laws repealed.

In her motivation, Dausab said the bill will implement the recommendations of the Law and Development Commission of Namibia, which will in turn improve the lives of Namibians in various ways.

She said obsolete laws are those dating back to colonial times, particularly those penned in service of apartheid ideology.

The government, she says, plans to carry out a large-scale repeal of all past laws.
