Namibia lost by 5 wickets against the Netherlands in their second game at the ICC Men's T20 World Cup at Kardinia Park in Geelong.

Namibia won the toss and decided to bat, putting the Netherlands in a position to bowl first.

Like in their opening match against Sri Lanka, Namibia lost wickets in the opening 3 overs.

Divan La Cock, Michael Van Lingen and Nicol Loftie-Eaton all went for just 20 runs to leave the Richelieu Eagles at 3 for 32 before Stephen Baard and Jan Frylinck steadied the ship again.

Captain Gerhard Erasmus scored 16 off 18 balls before David Wiese's 11 and JJ Smit's 5 saw the Richelieu Eagles reaching 121 for 6 and setting the Dutch a target of a 122 to win the match.

Netherlands batsman had a good start in their run chase as they lost their first wicket with 59 runs on the scoreboard.

Four more wickets fell for the Dutch at 2 for 92, 4 for 101 and 5 for 102 as the Netherlands picked up a glorious win.

Coach of the Richelieu Eagles, Pierre de Bruyn, said while it's not good to lose he will look at the positives.

Stephen Baard who put up 19 runs from 22 balls echoed the coach's sentiments and said there is still another game to look forward to.

The loss against the Netherlands makes Thursday's match against the UAE a must win for Namibia if they are to reach the Super 12 stages.
