A 33-year-old Namibian male has been arrested for the murder of his former girlfriend and mother of his three children, at Uukwanapembe Village in the Omusati Region last night.

It is alleged that 29-year-old Emilia Ndilokelwa was sleeping in her new boyfriend’s room when the suspect allegedly entered the homestead and broke down the door.

The boyfriend, who was the initial target, fled the scene and escaped unhurt, which led the suspect to vent his anger on the woman.

The suspect allegedly cut Ndilokelwa with a panga numerous times before she succumbed to her injuries.

He then fled the scene but was apprehended by the Omusati police, and is expected to appear in the Okahao Magistrate’s Court tomorrow.
