Some Swapo delegates in the Hardap Region have expressed mixed views over the internal campaign for those vying for top positions ahead of the party's Congress.

Swapo Party members across the country descended on the Persiane Hall at Mariental for the last session, where candidates gunning for the top position engaged delegates.

Our nbc News team spoke to some of the Congress delegates from the Hardap Region on the party's internal campaign concept as the drive nears an end.

" Those that come with the human heart, apart from that part, I believe the system is well designed but it needs improvement."

Another delegate expressed that, "there is no budget, there was nothing from the party' side, the total cost was on the candidates, families and the supporters who had to assist them with financial resources. It is a process which is very expensive, in the future, the party will  have to conduct a different approach when it comes to the budget, but the process is good."

Another delegate who was in attendance described the current campaign as peaceful and democratic.

"There is no intimidation, people are free to campaign, the engagements are up to that standard that the expression you get from each candidate is outstanding"

Incumbent Vice-President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, Prime Minister Saara Kuugongelwa- Amadhila and Minister of Environment, Forestry and Tourism Pohamba Shifeta are vying for the party's Vice-Presidency position.

Current party Secretary General Sophia Shaningwa and Oshikoto Regional Coordinator Armas Amukwiyu are gunning for the party's Secretary General position.

MPs Lucia Witbooi and Evelyn Nawases-Taeyele, Kavango West Regional Coordinator Dawid Hamutenya, and former Environment, Forestry and Tourism Minister Uahekua Herunga are in the race for the party's Deputy Secretary General position/
