The Chairperson of the Independent Patriots for Change in the Zambezi Region has cautioned members against accusing each other of having double membership without evidence.
Elvis Lizazi said this at the IPC's recruitment mini-rally held at Katima Mulilo.
Lizazi said there were incidents in the past of people accusing each other of belonging to two political parties.
This, Lizazi says, made the IPC lose its momentum in the process.
"I want to seriously warn against such unfounded accusations. Please, any member who will come to me as a regional chairperson and tell me that so and so is receiving what money from the Swapo party, we are going to ask you to give us evidence for such information because such decampaigning issues are hindering the progress of the IPC in the Zambezi Region."
Lizazi also said absent members and a lack of finances were some of the challenges the party is facing.
He however said there would be a thing of the past, calling on members to work hard in realizing the party's goals for the 2024 presidential elections.
On this occasion, the party also welcomed new members.
IPC National Mobilizer Lilian Lutuhezi called on the new members to familiarize themselves with the party's manifesto.
"We are already on the road to 2024; we are moving to 2024; we aim to take over government; we are not participating in the elections just for the sake of participation; we are not intending to be an opposition party, we are going to be the ruling party, and Swapo is going to be the official opposition party."
She also said the party has made significant progress in terms of representation on both regional and local authority councils, despite IPC being in existence for only two years.
