More than 40 people in Windhoek turned out for free medical services provided by the Petwa Foundation.

Founded in 2020, the Petwa Foundation provides free healthcare services to underprivileged communities through various initiatives, including health promotions and fundraisers.

Services covered by the Petwa Foundation include psychological counseling, cervical cancer screening, pharmaceuticals, and flu vaccines.

Dr. Twhafifwa Nambuwa, the organization's founder, urged medical professionals to work together to reach out to vulnerable people while promoting and raising awareness about healthy living.

"I am sitting in private, but there are people who did not receive flu vaccines. I have the means to get my vaccine; I have the means to see a general practitioner; I have the means to see a phycologist to cater to my mental health, but not everyone has those means, and that is really the reason why we decided when we had time on a Saturday like this to give back to the community."

About twenty volunteers came on board from Impala Pharmacy and Cmed Ultrasound Imaging.
