The City of Windhoek will conduct a public survey on who or what should replace the statue of Curt Von Francois that was removed from its premises.

The City's Communications Manager Harold Akwenye said the public suggestions will be looked at once the new council is elected and that it will be a study process.

The statue has been relocated to the City of Windhoek's Museum.

"We want to rewrite the imbalance, we want to correct the history."

Head of Tourism, Heritage, Arts and Culture, Grace Patjatura said the City is responsible for heritage and heritage management to interrogate the current status and management of similar statues within its jurisdiction.
