Councillor McDonald Hanse was re-elected as the Mayor of Keetmanshoop Town Council during the annual mayoral elections. 

Councillor Johannes Vries nominated Hanse for the mayoral position, which was seconded by Councillor Fatima Jossop. 

Vries was elected to serve as the council's management committee chairperson, a position previously held by councillor Easter Isaack. 

He was nominated by Jossop and seconded by Hanse for the latter position. 

Jossop and Knaus were also elected to serve on the council management committee, while Gaudentia Krohne, Easter Isaack and Johannes Nghihidinwa will serve as ordinary council members. 

Magistrate Lischen Konjore presided over the mayoral elections. 

LPM occupies five seats in the seven-member council, and Swapo Party occupies the remaining two seats.
