Most office-bearers in the Otjiwarongo Municipality and Otavi Town Council retained their positions.

Kandiwapa Shivute and Isaac !Hoaeb retained their positions as mayors of Otjiwarongo and Otavi, respectively.

Otjiwarongo council, with seven seats, is led by Swapo councillors, followed by opposition parties with one seat each.

Shivute is to be deputized by Julienda Kampungu. While Gothard Hoko was elected Chairperson of the Management Committee.

Other members of the management committee of the municipality include Hilde Jesaya of Swapo, Sebettius Guiteb of the Landless Peoples Movement, and Ernst Muraranganda of the Popular Democratic Movement as an additional member.

In his acceptance speech, Shivute reiterated his call for unity among councillors to effectively implement service delivery to residents.

The election event went smoothly under the watchful eye of Magistrate Karl Muyeghu.

At Otavi, the election was called off at the eleventh hour after the Swapo Party District Coordinator, Martha Shipanga, issued a directive that the party's councillors would not participate in the elections.

This means the status remains with Isaac !Hoaeb as mayor, deputized by Frieda Mvula.

The council management committee is led by Erisia Netumbo, with Naftali Dauseb and Timoteus Shipandeni as members and ordinary members.
