Traditional authority leaders in the Omaheke Region are meeting at Gobabis for a week-long seminar on leadership and management techniques.
Speaking at the workshop, the Regional Governor, Pijoo Nganate, emphasized that traditional leaders are pillars of development, hence their coming together should always bear new ideas.
"I come out of my beautiful house to the community place, and the community place is in the position that it is in, and it's all over; they all look the same; some of the halls that the government built are empty; you can play soccer in them while you wait for the government to bring 100 chairs; if the community can contribute a hundred dollars, we can provide chairs ourselves. We should stop being too reliant on the government, and we should be servants of the community we are leading."
