A suspected poacher was shot dead over the past weekend, by a member of the anti-poaching unit. 

According to the police weekend crime report, the three male suspects poached a Rhino at farm Okarakua in the  Windhoek district. 

One suspect was shot and killed, another was arrested and the third suspect is still at large. 

The police opened a murder case against the Anti-poaching unit members of Namibia wildlife protection.

The body of the suspect was transported to the Windhoek mortuary for an autopsy to be carried out. 

Police investigations into the matter are ongoing.

A hunting rifle with a silencer, live rounds, two horns and two mobile phones were recovered.
