Namibia will host the Extraordinary SADC Organ Troika Summit early next week.

The discussions will center around issues relating to politics and the security situation in the region.

The gathering will start with a meeting of senior government officials, to be followed by ministers.

The Extra-Ordinary SADC Summit of Heads of State and Government is expected to be held on Tuesday.

The Organs' Incoming Chairperson and Outgoing Chairperson are expected to present their reports at the summit.

Zambia's President Hakainde Hichilema who is the Incoming Chairperson of the SADC Organ will be taking over from South Africa's Cyril Ramaphosa.

The SADC Organ on Politics, Defence and Security Cooperation was established in 2001 as an Institution responsible for promoting peace and security in the region.
    
It is managed on a Troika basis and is coordinated at the level of Summit, consisting of a Chairperson.

SADC is a Regional Economic Community comprising 17 member states in Southern Africa.

They include Angola, Botswana, Comoros, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Eswatini, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
