Ohangwena Governor Walde Ndevashiya has called on stakeholders to come up with strategies to address and improve the teaching and learning environment in an effort to enhance the learners' academic performance.
In his speech read by the chairperson of the Regional Council, Ndevashiya emphasized the importance of stakeholder engagement saying it will contribute enormously to the success and good academic performance.
The Stakeholder consultative meeting was necessitated by poor academic performance where Ohangwena was ranked second last and 8th out of 14 nationally in Ordinary and Advanced subsidiary levels respectively last year.
Last month Ohangwena Chief Regional Officer Fillipus Shilongo embarked on a two week visit to some schools to motivate teachers and learners to work hard.
