Today marks the 35th anniversary of the bomb blast at Oshakati's Barclays bank now FNB Oshakati.
On that fateful day, 19 February 1988, twenty seven people died and seventy others injured after a bomb went off in the Barclays bank on the then goverment pay day.
One of the survivors, Asteria Shivute-Ampweya who worked as an administration officer in the superintendent's office at Oshakati is pleading with Namibian government to act on their behalf to persuade FNB to assist in paying their medical bills. She says that of they can't be compensated for their suffering the least the that can be done for them is assisting with the payment of their medical treatment.
