Former Deputy Minister of Finance Maureen Hinda-Mbuende has been appointed as the Interim Managing Director of the National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia (NAMCOR).

She takes over from Victoria Sibeya, who has been serving as acting managing director since April this year. 

Poverty has been singled out as a main contributing factor to human trafficking.

This was mentioned during the commemoration of the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons at Kaenda in the Zambezi Region. 

The farming communities at Erindirozombaka in the Otjombinde Constituency have prioritised crop production to address food shortages at the household level.

This is after the community drilled boreholes with the assistance from the government.

The first phase of the construction of the Nkurenkuru Multipurpose Youth Resource Centre, which started in June last year, has been completed.

An amount of N$10 million was allocated for Phase 1A of the centre, which covered the feasibility studies, design, documentation, and layout.
