The Ministry of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sports, Arts, and Culture has warned schools not to force parents to buy items or pay unauthorised fees.
 
The Ministry clarified that public schools are not allowed to force parents to buy stationery or cleaning materials or pay registration fees.

The Business and Intellectual Property Authority has appointed Ainna Kaundu as the new Chief Executive officer, effective from 01 January 2026.

Steven Schneiders told the court that he attempted to take his own life after learning that his girlfriend and co-accused, Naomi Fisch, had suffered a miscarriage.

The Department of Immigration in Zambia has deported 48 Ethiopian nationals, while 19 have been convicted.

Among those deported are 39 Ethiopian nationals who were apprehended on 23rd November last year in Kapiri Mposhi District after being discovered concealed in a fuel tanker. 

The memorial service for veteran journalist and former Swapo Party Regional Councillor Erasmus Captain Hendjala will be held on Friday, 9 January, at Oinyikanyika-Olupandu in the Omusati Region.

Hendjala died in Ongwediva on January 2 at the age of 78.
