NIMT employees have not received their salaries for December 2022

Employees of the Namibian Institute of Mining and Technology have not received their salaries for December.

Workers held a countrywide demonstration to demand their salary payments.

At Arandis, workers marched from the shopping centre to one of the two campuses, at the town.

The Central Procurement Board has acknowledged that no due diligence was done to determine whether companies selected for the tender have actual manufacturing plants or just exist on paper.

This was revealed by its Chairperson  Amon Ngavetene at a media conference today.

Walvis Bay-based medical doctor, Elifas Shapumba is conducting free medical checkups for individuals who are unable to afford private medical care.

Dr Shapumba says the free medical exercise will be a year-long support program for the Walvis Bay community and will be gradually rolled out to other towns.
