The eighth edition of the Navachab Half Marathon was launched in Windhoek on Tuesday, after a two-year absence due to the Covid 19 pandemic.

The Bank of Namibia's Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) has increased the Repo rate by 75 basis points from 4.75% to 5.50%. The Bank's Deputy Governor Ebson Uanguta made this announcement in the capital, this morning. This comes as South Africa's central bank also hiked the repo rate to 5.5% in July.

Zambezi Governor, Alufea Sampofu has told the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Natural Resources that many Namibians were killed since 1990 by Botswana Defence Force through its policy, of shoot to kill.

Namibia has reconsidered the decision to take over as chair of the SADC Organ on Politics, Defence and Security from South Africa. President Hage Geingob currently serves as the Deputy Chair of the Organ on behalf of Namibia.
