Vice President Lucia Witbooi, joined by the staff of the Presidency, embarked on a cleaning campaign at the State House and Old State House, respectively, this morning.

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has described the late former Minister of Works and Transport, Moses Amweelo, as a freedom fighter who has contributed immensely to the struggle for the independence of Namibia. 

Amweelo, a former Member of Parliament, died on Wednesday, aged 73. 

The final instalment of the three-part roundtable series, Stories of Women During Colonial Namibia, brought together prominent voices to discuss the future role of women in Namibia, with a focus on the arts, empowerment, education and advocacy.

Namibia joined the rest of the world in commemorating International Widows Day, a United Nations observance held annually on 23 June to raise awareness about discrimination and hardships faced by widows globally.
