The feud between the Namibia Professional Boxing and Wrestling Control Board and some Professional Boxing Promoters in the country has taken a new twist, with the Anti-Corruption Commission allegedly investigating the finances of the board. With sport administration still in shock mode following the arrest of two former Namibia Sport Commission employees last month, there is news of yet another saga concerning large amounts of money. The former boxing board - at the time chaired by Kelly Nghixulifwa - is allegedly under scrutiny by the Anti-Corruption Commission. The ACC is said to investigate an alleged un-accounted two million Namibia dollars. Lead investigator Willem Ollivier confirmed to nbc sport that he is aware of the case, but could not divuldge any information as investigations are allegedly at an infant stage. To make matters worse, long-serving Boxing Board Secretary General Joe Kaperu was dismissed earlier this week. Kaperu had been on suspension for alleged irregularities since last year. According to a reliable source, who wishes to remain anonymous, close to two million Namibia dollars has vanished from the coffers, which the former board has not accounted for. Another pending case is that of the Eckard Modise . Modise was the acting administrator after Kaperu was suspended in 2016. He was subsequently also suspended for alleged wrongdoings. A staff member of the Sports Ministry, Hendrick Mapele, was then seconded by the Sports minister to act as the Acting Chief Administrator since May. Board member Phillip Mwadingi confirmed the dismissal, saying that all due processes were followed. Mapele's secondment will be for a period of 12 months and end in April 2018. The board in the meantime has also lost office space, because of non-payment and is currently operating from the acting Chief Administrator's office at the ministry. According to a source close to the boxing control board, telephone lines at the previous office were cut, as well as the internet connection, while employees' salaries were outstanding for several months and the account at the bank has been suspended. Mwadingi, rubbished allegations, saying that they were offered a space at Trans Namib but the person who was to sign the contract is on suspension.
