Citizens move five points away from relegation zone

On Tuesday, Citizens took on Civics at the Sam Nujoma Stadium in Windhoek in the last match of round 19 of matches. Citizens came into the match with their confidence sky high after beating log leaders African Stars on Saturday, while Civics were held to a goalless draw by UNAM on the same day It was Civics, who opened the score in the 2nd minute of the game through Donald Geiseb, who scored his second goal of the season. It would remain the only goal of the first half. Geiseb then had a chance early in the second half to double his team’s lead but his header went over the bar. With Civics seemingly wasting their chances, Citizens’ midfielder Shane Van Wyk equalized from Raddick Gariseb’s free-kick. Meanwhile, Brian Isaacs’ team was regrouping and Citizens scored a again - this time through striker Roberto Rugam. This last goal was enough to give Citizens a-back-to-back victory for the first time since November last year.
