Namibia to host second Netball PENT series in June

Windhoek-Netball Namibia is set to host the second edition of the Senior International Netball Tournament known as the Pent Series in Windhoek in June. The competition which was hosted by Namibia for the first time last year proved to be a success and Netball Namibia aims to make this year's event bigger and better according to Netball Namibia Public Relations Officer Connie Samaria. ’We are hard at work to organise the second edition of the Pent Series to take place in Windhoek, we would like to thank the sponsors Debmarine Namibia for sponsoring Netball and making sure we host an event of such magnitude, this year we want more countries to participate and are planning to bring the games closer to the people compared to last year so far five countries have confirmed their participation with more expected to confirm by next week”Samaria said. The competition will see more than five African countries it out for top rankings points. Namibia aims to use the tournament to improve its position in Africa and on the world stage. The tournament is sanctioned by the International Netball Federation and will count as ranking games for participating countries. The tournament is set to start from the 9th to the 13rd of June in Windhoek at a venue still to be confirmed.
