Brave Warriors coach Ricardo Mannetti says he was never in doubt that his team was going to win - even though they went into the break with a goalless draw against Comoros. The Brave Warriors beat Comoros Islands by two goals to nil in the second round of the 2018 Chan qualifiers at the Sam Nujoma stadium yesterday. The result was enough to give the home side three goals to two on aggregate. The Warriors however had to wait until the second half to score their first goal, but coach Mannetti says he knew the goal was coming. “We had a plan. Things were not working in the first half that is why I made the changes and it paid off,” he added. Mannetti was impressed by Charles Hambira, who was thrown in the deep end after Teberius Lombard’s suspension. “He was on top of his game. That boy played his heart out and he was very vital for the team,” Manneti said. Comoros Islands’ assistant coach was not happy with the refereeing - especially regarding circumstances surrounding the second goal. He said he couldn’t understand why Namibia played with a twelve-men team. Mannetti is without a doubt the most successful Brave Warriors coach after he won the COSSAFA cup in 2015, the COSSAFA Plate final in 2016 and now helped the Brave Warriors to qualify for the 2018 African Championships.
