18 officers return home from SAMIM

A team of 18 officers who took part in the SADC mission in Cabo Delgado, Mozambique contingent II, have returned home.

Namibia has consistently fulfilled all of its financial obligations to the Southern African Development Community Mission in Mozambique (SAMIM), demonstrating its dedication to fostering peace in Cabo Delgado.

The country committed a cash amount of about N$5,8 million instead of deploying troops to help SADC fight an Islamic extremist insurgency in the Cabo Delgado province of Mozambique.

Police officers face housing challenge

Otjozondjupa Governor James Uerikua has called upon the local authorities to fast-track the delivery of land and housing for the men and women in uniform.

Uerikua made this call during the State of the Region Address at Otjiwarongo.

Lack of housing is the greatest challenge faced by men and women in uniform, as only a few have managed to acquire houses through various means.

Officials from all regions finish four-day workshop

Public Relations and Regional Community Affairs Officers are expected to maintain and solicit public trust at all times through daily interactions.

Thirty officials from all the country's 14 regions, underwent a four-day workshop that was aimed at enhancing their competencies and abilities.
 
Legal and ethics, freedom of expression, access to information, the safety of journalists, the importance of TV/Radio, interviews as well as handling of video footage and photography were some of the topics covered during the workshop.
