UN's partnership framework aligns with Namibia's 6th NDP - Phororo

The United Nations (UN) Resident Coordinator in Namibia, Hopolang Phororo, says the body's partnership framework is aligned with Namibia's 6th National Development Plan.

Hopolang Phororo said this during a courtesy call to the nbc's headquarter in Windhoek.

Phororo explained that the UN's partnership framework places an emphasis on economic and social transformation, environmental sustainability, and good governance.

Phororo also welcomed Namibia's 2023 Population and Housing Census, saying it will assist them in their work.

The UN Resident Coordinator to Namibia, Hopolang Phororo, states that it is imperative for women to be acknowledged as critical actors in the realisation of international peace and security.

Phororo was speaking at the launch of the Namibia International Women Peace Centre's 2023–2028 Strategic Plan.

The UN Resident Coordinator in Namibia called on women to be active participants and shapers of peace and security policies, not just passive recipients of political decisions.

The United Nations family of organizations in Namibia has donated commodities worth N$2 million towards assisting flood victims in the Ohangwena and Oshana regions.

The United Nations family came together and mobilized humanitarian assistance to people affected by floods, saying disasters and climate risks pose serious threats to key sectors of Namibia and the ultimate realization of Sustainable Development Goals.
