Kavango West Governor Verna Sinimbo says there has been a change in the lives of beneficiaries since the start of these outreach programs by the various UN agencies in collaboration with the various ministries.
"There is at least one change since this program was introduced here. The weight is increasing, and health issues are being addressed because they are being fed the right food and, of course, receiving the health education that comes with it. Now mothers, parents, and communities understand what they need to do when faced with some of these issues. "We can see the impact, and this we could not do alone as a government; that's why we need stakeholders such as the UN to meet the government halfway."
The UN Resident Coordinator in Namibia, Hopolang Phororo, says there is added value in working together.
"When we work together, we are able to leverage more of the impact of what we are doing because if any one agency came to do what is happening today, it could probably just have been one aspect of it, unlike now where we have combined various aspects of the UN agencies to come up with something more impactful."
