Namibia has been implementing a robust national strategy to eliminate dog-mediated rabies.

The programme, which started in 2016, aims to eliminate dog-mediated rabies by 2030.

Zambia has recorded an accumulative total of 1,307 cholera cases, with the death toll now standing at 21.

However, the outbreak reported in August last year does not affect border areas with Namibia.

Of the 1,307 cases, 1,270 have successfully recovered.

Children under the age of 10 from the Kavango East and West regions are being vaccinated against polio.

This comes after detection of the virus at a sewerage pond at Rundu's Ndama location.
