Dr. Lemmer High School celebrates its 75th anniversary

In a jubilant celebration of 75 years of commitment to empowering learners and shaping future leaders, Dr. Lemmer High School marked this milestone with the Nedbank Relay Championship competition.

The event was filled with various activities, including the 100, 200, and 400-metre runs. 

Teachers and learners from schools as far as the Namakwa Region in South Africa joined the celebration, highlighting the school's impact beyond its immediate community.

Spain's Deputy Minister reiterates collaboration with Namibia

Spain's Deputy Minister responsible for European Affairs, Fernando Sampedro, has reiterated his country's continued collaboration with Namibia, including in the sports sector.

He commended the work of the Real Madrid Foundation with different schools, using sport as a tool both for education and social integration.

Sampedro represented the government of Spain at the late President Hage Geingob's funeral service.

The Spanish delegation paid a brief courtesy call to President Nangolo Mbumba at State House shortly before departure to Spain on Sunday.

Namibia to commemorate 33rd Heroes Day

Namibia will observe its 33rd Heroes Day on August 26th, commemorating those who lost their lives in the war of independence, which was launched in 1966 at Omugulugwombashe.

Netball extraordinary

Netball Namibia President Rebecca //Goagoses told NBC Sport this week that they used the just-concluded Namibian Newspaper Cup to scout players for the under-19 and 20 national squads. 

The Namibian Newspaper Cup, which kicked off on the 7th of April, provided Netball Namibia with a valuable opportunity to scout players.

Last year, the under 20 Netball team participated in the Region 5 Youth Games, which were hosted in Malawi, where the Baby Desert Jewels unfortunately lost most of their games.
