Oshana police have arrested two suspects in connection with a housebreaking at Oshakati Mayor Leonard Hango's residence during the recent festive season.

Rainfall during the Christmas week was quite intense across much of the Oshana, Ohangwena, Kavango East and West, and Zambezi regions, which mostly experienced scattered showers accompanied by flash flooding.

The National Students Organisation (NANSO) has called on the government, the private sector, and guardians to step up in the transformation of the education system.
 

A 48-year-old resident of Oshitumbe B Village, in Omusati's Uukwaluudhi Conservancy, was killed by elephants on Sunday. 

The body of Efraim Shivute was discovered early on Tuesday morning by community members.

The disaster risk management warehouse at Uukwangula, Oshana Region, which houses drought relief food for the Omusati, Kunene, Oshikoto, Ohangwena, and Oshana regions, is operational and ready to distribute food to the beneficiaries.

The government has allocated N$2.8 million to all 14 regions of the country towards the hosting of regional memorial services. 

Each region received N$200,000.

So far, the Oshana, Hardap, and Kunene regions have hosted their memorial services.

Residents of Oluthalweegolo, Uuvudhiya, and Ondjungulume villages are rejoicing as the revamped Water Canal's water flow has brought relief to both humans and livestock.

NamWater is working on the rehabilitation of its canal in an effort to ensure that the northern communities have access to an ample supply of clean drinking water.
