Young boxer aims to qualify for tournament in Senegal

Johannes Trofimus, a talented young amateur boxer hailing from the esteemed MTC Kilimandjaro Boxing Academy, aspires to qualify for an upcoming amateur boxing tournament in Senegal this September.

At the age of 23, Trofimus discovered his passion for boxing when his older brother convinced him to embrace the sport. With dreams of becoming a professional boxer, he aims to represent not only his hometown but also his country and the renowned MTC Kilimandjaro Boxing Academy.

WorldSkills Namibia set to complete countrywide selection

WorldSkills Namibia will complete its countrywide selection this weekend.

The skills competition focuses on 14 technical and vocational skill sets and those who emerge as winners will take part in the national skills competition in September this year.

The Namibia Training Authority (NTA), through World Skills Namibia, remains committed to creating awareness and promoting the development of technical and vocational skills in the country, particularly among the youth.

Last year, the country hosted a successful skills competition for the African continent.
