RA, RFA & Nkurenkuru TC sign MoU

The Roads Authority (RA), Road Fund Administration (RFA), and Nkurenkuru Town Council have signed a three-year agreement for the planning, rehabilitation, and maintenance of urban road networks.

The Nkurenkuru local authority approached the road authorities for assistance in this cause. Under the agreement, the RFA will be responsible for providing funds, while the Roads Authority will assist with engineering services. The Nkurenkuru Town Council completed the 800-metre road last year, funded by the RFA, at a cost of N$3.9 million.

Nkurenkuru Town Council learns from Gobabis Municipality

A delegation led by officials from the Nkurenkuru Town Council and members of the Shack Dwellers Federation visited the Gobabis Municipality to gain exposure to various key development projects.

Gobabis Council recently provided over 100 serviced housing plots to the federation members in response to the housing shortage.

The Chairperson of the Gobabis Municipality Management Committee, Sylvester Binga, stated that development acceleration would require collective efforts.

Kavango West Regional Council continues to prioritise youth empowerment

The Kavango West Regional Council continues to place youth empowerment among its priorities.

Governor Sirkka Ausiku, in her State of the Region Address (SORA) at Nkurenkuru, pointed out various programmes and initiatives geared towards youth empowerment.

The governor says the regional council supports 26 horticulture projects and is calling on financial institutions to invest more in agriculture.

Ausiku also called on the Nkurenkuru Town Council to introduce more urban agriculture, which she says has the potential to reduce youth unemployment.

Government ministries and private companies called to develop their plots in Nkurenkuru

Former President Hifikepunye Pohamba is calling on government ministries and private companies to develop the plots they've secured from the Nkurenkuru Town Council.

Pohamba says Nkurenkuru is strategically located for success in various business sectors, including agriculture, manufacturing, and tourism, among others.

The former president is the patron of the Nkurenkuru Expo, and his speech was read on his behalf at a dinner aimed at raising funds for the expo, slated for next month.
