Ohangwena Regional Council investigates flood victims' funds

The Ohangwena Regional Council has initiated an investigation into the disappearance of N$200,000 that was intended for flood victims.

These funds were donated to the Ohangwena Regional Council by the Road Fund Administration (RFA) last year.

The incident occurred in 2023 under the tenure of the former regional governor, Walde Ndevashiya.

It is alleged that during that time, the former governor's personal assistant made contact with the RFA and requested that the money be transferred to the account of a company called Ethics Group Holding.

The African Roads Maintenance Funds Association is calling for new revenue collection strategies amidst threats to global fuel supply and the emergence of electric cars.

The outgoing president of the association, Ali Ipinge, says Africa is not behind with the concept of electric cars.

Ali Ipinge, who is also the CEO of Namibia's Road Fund Administration, made the remarks when he handed over the association's presidency to the incoming president from Cameroon, Moussa Essaie.
