The Namibian government plans to launch the Namibia Trade Policy to calibrate economic sector competitiveness.

Workers of the Gobabis Municipality staged a demonstration demanding that the council investigate financial status, progress on capital projects, maladministration, lack of good governance, favouritism, and unfair labour practices affecting development at Gobabis. 

Keetmanshoop Mayor McDonald Hanse thanked the town's residents for "a commendable display of responsibility to settle their municipal accounts."

NamWater is calling on residents of central Namibia to use water sparingly as the area is facing a serious water shortage. 

Currently, the central area of Namibia gets its water supply from the Omatako, Von Bach, and Swakoppoort dams.

The leader of the Landless Peoples Movement (LPM), Bernadus Swartbooi, is convinced that the town council of Rundu can improve its infrastructure, despite outstanding debt by residents running into millions of dollars.

He said this at an LPM rally at Rundu.

NamWater is set to discontinue releasing water for irrigation in the Hardap Irrigation Scheme if limited water inflow into the Hardap Dam persists.

In the wake of poor rainfall in its catchment area, the dam's water level stood at 12.8% on Tuesday.

Otavi Town Council Chief Executive Officer Wodibo Haulofu has called out NamWater for installing a water metre at the Otavi fountain.

Haulofu expressed his dissatisfaction during the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Human Resources and Community Development hearing.
