CoW launches Ebikes pilot project

The City of Windhoek (CoW) has launched the Ebike4Windhoek pilot project as part of its effort to reduce carbon emissions and increase transport options. Non-motorised transport has an important role to play in reducing carbon dioxide emissions and greening the economy in the context of providing and promoting more sustainable transport options.

Windhoek residents protest against Red Force

The residents of Katutura in Windhoek are protesting against the appointment of a debt collector, Red Force, fearing that their services will be terminated for non-payment.

They have also appealed to the City of Windhoek to write off their debts.

The Chairperson of the Katutura Residents Committee, Benestus Kandundu, alleged that the municipality is using an estimation billing system, which they say is unfair.

Kandundu further urged the City of Windhoek to speed up the process of installing prepaid water and electricity metre systems in all households.
