Miss Namibia Organisation Celebrates |Uiras Top 20 Placement

The Miss Namibia Organisation organised a celebration for Jameela |Uiras for being in the top 20 placement at a recent Miss Universe beauty pageant held in Central America.

The event provided an opportunity for journalists to get up close and personal with Miss Namibia.

|Uiras explained that what made her stand out to be part of the top 20 was being herself, having faith, and oozing confidence.

Miss Namibia believes that sharing her story is partly what granted her the opportunity.

Namibians are rallying behind Miss Universe Namibia, Jameela |Uiras, who is taking part in the Miss Universe event in El Salvador, San Salvador, tonight.

Social media has been pouring in well-wishes and support for the Namibian beauty queen.

As of today, |Uiras garnered more votes, which landed her at the number one spot as the "Face of the Universe.

This follows awareness from different people on social media, which included the collection of funds to buy more votes.

Miss Namibia Jameela |Uiras unveils national costume

Miss Namibia Jameela |Uiras has unveiled her national costume for the upcoming Miss Universe pageant slated for November 18 in El Salvador. 

At the event on the outskirts of the capital, |Uiras  paraded the oryx and diamond-inspired costume she will wear in the national dress category at the glitzy international event.

|Uiras explained how she came up with the idea for her costume, which she named the Majestic Diamond Oryx, and sketched.

The dress was designed by creator Mwatile Kapolola and stylist Nadia Wilson. 

Miss Namibia & Miss Teen pay courtesy call to MIRCO

Miss Namibia, Jameela |Uiras, and Miss Teen 2023, Oriana Ribeiro, paid a courtesy call to the Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation (MIRCO) to familiarise themselves with their responsibilities in the recently launched Namibia International Women's Peace Centre.

The visit aims to guide Miss Namibia and Miss Teen on how to advocate for the International Women's Peace Centre and peace for all, both locally and internationally.

Jameela |Uiras crowned Miss Namibia 2023

Jameela |Uiras scooped the coveted Title of Miss Namibia 2023 at the glitzy event hosted at Swakopmund's MTC Dome last night.

The 23-year-old fashion model and marketing strategist who was voted fairest of them all by a panel of judges.

|Uiras, who is an advocate for youth empowerment, was also voted Miss Photogenic.

Former Miss Namibia Cassia Sharpley did the honours of crowning her predecessor.

Albertina Haimbala was named the first princess, while the second princess is Martha Kautanevali, who was also chosen as the Public's Choice.
