Woman remanded over Ohalumbebe child killing

A 31-year-old woman, Hilma Hiskia, has been remanded in custody by Magistrate Tuarirovangu Kasirua for allegedly killing her boyfriend’s 3-year-old daughter at Ohalumbebe village over the weekend. Her case was postponed to 16 June.

President Nandi-Ndaitwah vows to remember Oshakati bomb victims

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has reaffirmed that the victims of the 1988 bomb blast at the then Barclays Bank in Oshakati, will never be forgotten.

 The president paid tribute to the 27 victims during a remembrance ceremony of the events dating back to 19 February 1988, held in Ongwediva on Sunday.

SWAPO stalwart Erkki Nghimtina was laid to rest this morning at the Eenhana Memorial Shrine in the Ohangwena Region. The former minister passed away at his home in Edundja Village on February 8th at the age of 78.

Prosecutor-General pays tribute to slain prosecutor Justine Shiweda

Prosecutor-General Martha Imalwa delivered an emotional tribute to the family of the late Ondangwa-based prosecutor, Justine Shiweda.

She described Shiweda as an outstanding and committed prosecutor who was simply doing her job. Imalwa added that her death will not be in vain.

Health Minister voices displeasure at Oshakati hospital office inauguration

The Minister of Health and Social Services (MoHSS), Esperance Luvindao, was more displeased than happy when she recently inaugurated a multi-million dollar office building for the Oshakati Hospital management team. 

In her view, there is more need to build health facilities than offices.

Ondangwa Council denies land donation claim
