Regional Adult Learners Week and International Literacy Day were commemorated this week at Omatako in the Tsumkwe Constituency.

The event was held under the theme "Promoting Literacy in a Digital Era.

NamWater recorded positive inflows into key dams across the country for the first week of March.

Recent rainfall contributed to improved water levels across the Swakoppoort, Von Bach, Omatako, and Omatjenne dams, offering a welcome boost to Namibia's water storage capacity.

The Otjozondjupa Regional Electoral Officer, Victoria Amutenya, says only 148 out of the 204 trainees will be appointed as registration officials in the Otjozondjupa Region. 

General voter registration is scheduled to start on June 3 and last until August 1.

The community of Omatako in Tsumkwe West demonstrated against the !Kung Traditional Authority regarding the alleged denial of land for a proposed youth development project.

They handed over a petition to the senior councillor on behalf of Otjozondjupa Governor James Uerikua.
