5G technology to unlock untapped values

Mobile Telecommunications Company (MTC) is hopeful that the rollout of 5G technology in Namibia will unlock untapped values that lie within the country's digital infrastructure.

This, it says, will also result in a significant milestone for the economy and its people's livelihood. 

MTC held the first public 5G technology trail demonstration, the fifth generation of wireless connectivity, which allows for faster and more powerful connectivity that supports high-tech machines. 

Rundu residents adamant on finishing SIM card registration process

Some Mobile Telecommunications Company (MTC) clients waiting in line at the mobile home in Rundu are adamant about finishing the registration process, despite the announced extension.

It's a chaotic situation, with various clients putting pressure on the security guards to better manage the queue.

Despite the extension, some people said they would register today, no matter how long it takes.

They also welcomed the three-month extension.

A number of clients had a lot to say about how the mobile home should handle the registration process.

MVA raises over N$1.6 million towards the Festive Road Safety Campaign

The Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) Fund raised more than N$1.6 million towards the Festive Road Safety Campaign.

The campaign will begin this week on November 17th and run until January 15th.

The pledges were made by different corporate companies as a contribution to road safety and eventually a reduction of road fatalities.

Among the sponsors are the Mobile Telecommunications Company (MTC), Bank Windhoek, B2Gold, and Namibia Breweries Limited (NBL).
