At a recent engagement meeting, locals also voiced frustration over the slow response to calls for help by law enforcement.

IG Shikongo leads crime awareness drive in Rundu

To combat crime and create public awareness in the Kavango East Region, the Police Inspector General, Joseph Shikongo, held a community meeting at Rundu.

Since last year to date, more than 700 house break-ins have been recorded, while 1,300 cases are classified as other offences. 

Police urges caution with fires

The Namibian Police Force is advising the public to exercise extreme caution when making fires at home or handling flammable products. 

This warning comes in response to a rise in fire incidents reported in recent months. 

Teenage Boy Found Dead in Karibib

A teenage boy's body was discovered in Karibib this morning. 

According to Erongo Police regional commander Commissioner Nikolaus Kupembona, preliminary investigations suggest that the victim was stabbed. 

The victim is believed to be approximately 17 years old.
