China and Namibia marked the Chinese New Year, the Year of the Horse, with a cultural celebration highlighting growing people-to-people ties between the two countries.

Namibians have joined the Chinese Embassy in celebrating the Spring Festival, marking the Chinese New Year in Windhoek.

The Masubia Traditional Authority is preparing to host its first cultural celebration since the crowning of its new chief earlier this year.

The Masubia Festival takes place later this week.

The Minister of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety, and Security, Lucia Iipumbu, is calling on all local authorities to organise exhibitions, as they are closely linked to key sectors of the economy. 

Iipumbu expressed pride in the growth of the Oshakati Totem Expo since its inception in 2012.
