The City of Windhoek has approved additional funding for its debt relief programme for senior citizens and vulnerable residents.​

An additional N$100 million in funding was approved to support pensioners who were 60 years or older by 30 November 2023, but whose previous applications were unsuccessful.​

The Director General of the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) has commended the staff for a job well done in keeping the nation informed and up to date as the Regional Council and Local Authority Elections unfolded. 

Low turnout recorded in local authority elections

Of the 752,43 voters registered for the local authority election, only 272,942—representing 36.29%—cast their ballots. 
Ballots rejected were 3,512. 

 The Swapo Party secured 52.40% of the votes. IPC came in second with 15.01%, while LPM followed with 5.85%. 

Turnout in the 2025 regional and local elections was low.

The 2025 Regional Councils and Local Authority Election recorded low turnout.

Over 1.4 million voters were registered for the regional council elections, but only 609,000, representing 40.7%, voted, while over 5,000 ballots were rejected.
