The Constituency Councillor, Joseph Sivaku Sikongo, says it has become a matter of concern as this impacts the performance of the learners.

QKR Navachab Gold Mine hands over renovated infrastructure to Karibib Private School

The QKR Navachab Gold Mine near Karibib has handed over renovated infrastructure worth N$12 million to the Karibib Private School.

Managing Director George Botshiwe says the company will continue to support private and public schools in the area, as educating the youth is important.

QKR Navachab Gold Mine officially handed over infrastructure, including a refurbished hostel, a new dining hall, kitchen and laundry facilities at a fundraising dinner held by the Karibib Private School. 

Namibia and Sierra Leone sign MoU to strengthen multilateral agreements

Namibia and Sierra Leone have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen their bilateral and multilateral agreements, with a focus on cooperation in key areas such as agriculture, tourism, infrastructure, trade and investment, and marine resources.

KJ Kapeua Combined School's infrastructure in deplorable state- teachers

Teachers at a public school in Ovitoto, a settlement south of Okahandja, say its facilities are unsuitable for learning.

Buildings and ablution facilities at KJ Kapeua Combined School, the teaching staff says, have been in a deplorable state for years. They accuse the Ministry of Education, Arts, and Culture of turning a blind eye to the health risks learners here are exposed to.

Built 40 years ago as a primary school for children of the Ovitoto settlement, KJ Kapeua was upgraded to a combined school, welcoming learners from pre-primary level to grade 11.

Education directorate, senior political leaders visit Okondjatu Combined School

Senior political leaders and staff of the education directorate undertook a visit to the Okondjatu Combined School in Okakarara Constituency. 

This follows the circulation of images and videos depicting the deplorable condition at the school. 

Otjozondjupa Regional Governor James Uerikua wants immediate action in having the old infrastructure renovated along with other demands.

Uerikua says renovations will be undertaken, and ablution facilities fixed, as soon as a budget is availed. 

He noted that the school blocks were damaged by lightning in 2014.

Olupale police station to have proper infrastructure

Police officers posted at Olupale in the Okongo Constituency will see their living conditions improved in the near future.


After a recent visit to the police station, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security, Dr Daniel Kashikola says plans are to set up proper infrastructure there.

The Olupale Police Station was set up in 2008 and currently has 14 staff members accommodated in tents.

Dr Kashikola says plans to build barracks, a charge office, a kitchen and a dining hall are all on the cards.
