Namibia is crafting its National Land Cover Classification Standard, which once promulgated, will empower government institutions to make better decisions based on the concept of evidence.

At present, Namibia does not have a promulgated uniform land cover management system and those that exist at regional and municipal levels are often incompatible and inconsistent. 

Economic statistics critical for decision making of policymakers and implementers

The Namibia Statistic Agency has underlined the importance of economic statistics as a critical tool for supporting the decision-making of policymakers and implementers.

Statistician-General Alex Shimuafeni made the remarks at the ||Kharas Regional stakeholder workshop on economic statistics held at Keetmanshoop.

NSA facilitated the workshop to create awareness of the different economic indicators it produces and its use thereof.

The agency has embarked on a drive to host similar workshops countrywide to enhance the use of economic statistics.
