Germany remains top source of tourists to Namibia

Germany remains in the top spot as the overseas destination from which tourists arrive in the country.

The 2024 Tourist Statistical Report launched by the Environment, Forestry and Tourism Minister Indileni Daniels shows that over 111,000 tourists arrived from Germany during that year.

Windhoek High Court ruling impacts Namibia-Germany genocide case

A ruling by a full bench of the Windhoek High Court has shifted the trajectory of the legal fight over the 2021 Namibia-Germany joint declaration on the 1904-08 Ovaherero and Nama genocide. 

The court has decided not to add Germany as a respondent in the case, at least for the time being.

Germany donates N$30m mobile command post to Defence Ministry

The German Armed Forces Technical Advisory Groups handed over a mobile command post worth more than N$30 million to the Ministry of Defence and Veterans Affairs.

The mobile command post is a quickly deployable unit to command troops in and out of the area of operation.

High Court to rule on Swartbooi bid to join Germany to case

The High Court will deliver its ruling on the 18th of November in the interlocutory matter in which Bernadus Swartbooi wants Germany to be joined to a case in which he seeks a declaration by Namibia and Germany to be nullified.

German-speaking Namibians and the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Foundation held a dialogue about the joint declaration between Namibia and Germany.

The aim of the dialogue was to exchange and share perspectives and outline their commitment to support reconciliation and reconstruction in the country.
