The Food and Agriculture Organisation joined the Office of the Governor in the Omaheke Region to address the pressing issue of food insecurity and malnutrition induced by severe drought.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Water, and Land Reform is dedicated to enhancing food security and fostering a sustainable environment by providing horticulture and agricultural conservation training to farmers in the ||Kharas Region.

Agriculture is more than just a means of production—it's a pathway to prosperity for around 70% of Namibia's population. 

The Etunda and Sikondo Green Scheme Irrigations, located in Omusati and Kavango East regions, were recognised for their excellence, winning top honours at the Namibia Agronomic Board's (NAB) National Agronomic and Horticulture Awards, held at Olushandja.

The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), the Capricorn Foundation, and the University of Namibia (UNAM) have teamed up to help farmers turn their crops into valuable products.

The Minister of Agriculture, Water, and Land Reform, Carl Schlettwein, has commended the efforts and dedication shown by the Katuuo family at Orevia village for setting up a garden project to address food security and job creation. 

India's government is assisting Namibia with grain and other food items for the drought relief programme.

The outgoing High Commissioner of India, Mandarapu Subbarayudu, revealed this during a farewell courtesy call on President Nangolo Mbumba at State House.

The Namibia Fish Consumption Promotion Trust (NFCPT) has embarked on an innovative strategy to enhance fish distribution across the country. 

The trust has signed contracts with 13 small and medium enterprises to facilitate the distribution of fish to consumers at affordable prices.

The Chairperson of the Karibib Municipal Council, Lazarus Kanelombe, has emphasised that food security is a crucial legacy of the independence that Namibians battled to achieve. 

The United Nations' Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) remains a dedicated partner for Namibia to ensure food security for all.

This commitment was reaffirmed at the handover of gardening tools and irrigation systems to 308 beneficiaries in the Ohangwena Region, valued at N$2.2 million.
