PDM pledges to support Paragon

Leader of the Popular Democratic Movement (PDM) McHenry Venaani has pledged his support for local company Paragon Aviation taking over ground handling services from Menzies Aviation at the Hosea Kutako International Airport (HKIA).

He says it is only fair that they are granted a chance to prove themselves.

NAC evicts Menzies Aviation

The Namibia Airports Company (NAC) has evicted Menzies Aviation from the Hosea Kutako International Airport, and according to Paragon, the situation is under control and flights are departing normally since it took over ground handling services at the airport.

The Namibian Airports Company issued a statement notifying stakeholders about the eviction of Menzies Aviation from the Hosea Kutako International Airport.

Aviation and connectivity forum set for Windhoek

Minister of Works and Transport, John Mutorwa, will be joined by the Finnish Minister for Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade, Ville Skinnari, in officiating the opening of the Aviation and Connectivity Forum taking place in Windhoek between Wednesday and Friday.

A media release issued on Sunday by the Namibia Airports Company stated that the event will provide a platform for key aviation industry players and stakeholders to share, tackle, and put into motion ideas on the trajectory that the aviation industry and its related ecosystems over the next few years.

Andimba Toivo Ya Toivo statue unveiled

Vice-President Nangolo Mbumba unveiled a statue in honour of the late liberation struggle stalwart, Andimba Toivo Ya Toivo, at Ondangwa in the Oshana Region.

Mbumba described the late Ya Toivo as a great freedom fighter, statesman, and a true, patriotic Namibian.

The statue's unveiling follows the renaming of Ondangwa Airport to the Andimba Toivo Ya Toivo Airport in 2019.

Mbumba says Ya Toivo embodied the highest values of bravery, peace, compassion and human dignity.
